Page 2 titled “Introductory” provides what is surprising information disproving the assumption that the Davis Sewing Machine Company started making bicycles in 1892 soon after the Davis Sewing Machine Company moved from Watertown, New York to Dayton. It states, “When the Dayton Bicycle was presented to public favor by its manufacturers, in the early part of the season of 1895 . . .”
So apparently the first year of Dayton bicycles was 1895, not 1892.
